Boston Design Center Announces Event’s Program during Boston Design Week
Kicking off with Boston Magazine’s “Top Places to Live” on Wednesday, March 27th, the lineup this year includes a wide range of design-focused panel discussions and events with many esteemed industry experts.
Thursday, March 28 will feature Innovation and Design Building tenant, Autodesk as they host Design Night at the BUILD Space at 6p.m. Their themed design nights are synonymous in Boston’s design industry with an eclectic range of hands-on activities, food, cocktails and dancing.
Friday, March 29 is the 4th annual “Design Showdown” from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Boston Design Center in partnership with the American Society of Interior Designers, New England (ASID NE) challenges New England design students to imagine a showroom of the future in Boston Design Center. Wednesday, April 3 kicks off with “How Design Thinking Will Grow Your Business and Thrill Your Customer,” an interactive workshop facilitated by Refine + Focus is presented by The International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) at 11AM.
Following is, “Beyond Social Media: How Designers can Harness the Internet for Growth, Creativity, and Increased Revenue” at 1PM. LuAnn Nigara, host of “A Well Designed Business” podcast, will join Esther Cullum from DesginSkim and Heather Gilette of DesignerInc.com on this DesignSkim Panel.
Rounding out the day is “Women in Design” Panel by Modern Luxury Interiors Boston at 3:00 p.m. and “Elements of Family Style” with Erin Gates at 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 4th features “The Roots of a New American Style” with Tom Kligerman of esteemed architecture firm Ike, Kligerman, Barkley at 11a.m. He will discuss the influences on their house designs, exploring American architecture from the shingle style cottages to the Anasazi ruins of the Southwest.
BDC tenants are also hosting several interesting events including System 7 & Wolfers, presenting “Lighting Technology” on March 28 and April 2. Kitchen and cabinet showroom, Jewett Farms & Co. will present “Tidying Up” on March 28th. Scott Group Studio will host a CEU program on April 2nd. Boston Hardwood & Kitchen will host Chef Andy Husbands on April 4th.
Events hosted at the Boston Design Center are free and open to the public, but require guests to RSVP.
