About Stephen Nobel

Steve Nobel specializes in the markets for luxury at home. He counsels his clients in their efforts to build home furnishings brands, and to advance the market for interior design and decoration worldwide. His clients include some of the largest distributors of decorative furnishings in the US; manufacturers repositioning their business in the e-commerce and interior design ecosystem; design centers and hundreds of interior designers on matters of business strategy, pricing models, licensing, etc.

Currently, on behalf of the design industry, he is Executive Director of the Decorative Furnishings Association (a trade group that promotes the value of interior design and facilitates strategic plans for the industry to meet the challenges of a dynamic market). In addition to his consulting work, Steve is developing online business courses for New York School of Interior Design. He is also the instructor for ASID’s online “Business Strategies Courses”and co-author of “Aiming at Affluence;Marketing Interior Design to Luxury Clients.” And he is the author of

“Touchpoints of Interior Design” a series of iBooks on attracting clients and building sustainable business practices. He co-wrote the research-based White Paper on “Home and Interior Design Among the Affluent” and speaks frequently on the business of design in Design Centers and Showrooms throughout North America.

Prior to establishing NOBELINKS in 1994, he was an owner and president of The John Widdicomb Company, and also served as Managing Director of Baker, Knapp and Tubbs, Ltd. in London, England.
