Boston Design Center: New Look for Spring 2018
Boston Design Center continues to transform into the
ultimate destination for luxury residential and commercial home furnishings in
New England. After a hugely successful push to replace all windows in the
building, the BDC team and our showrooms are thrilled with the resulting
natural light and enhanced exterior appearance.
What’s next? Construction on phase 1 of our Ground Floor Renovation Project will commence on Wednesday, October 18, and continue through March 2018 with as few interruptions to everyday business as possible.
There is much to be excited for as we break ground and begin renovations! Highlights of the project include a new entry plaza and entryway at 17 Drydock Avenue (on the promenade); a new luxury lobby experience and concierge desk; new ground floor restrooms; a grand stairway connecting floors 1 through 3; a 2nd floor designer lounge for working with clients in a tranquil yet inspiring environment; improved finishes; and refreshed storefronts for our ground floor tenants Janus et Cie and Stark.
During phase 1 of the project, which will last through the end of the year, all elevators to the BDC will remain accessible, and access to the front entrance of the building from the BDC Visitor Lot remains as usual. Designers and their clients will see some signs of construction, including fencing and machinery, but we are striving to keep the experience of visiting our showrooms as seamless and luxurious as possible.
When our next phase begins we will be quick to notify all showrooms, visitors, and friends of the BDC. Stay in the loop by checking bostondesign.com where any new activity will be posted throughout this process. We can’t wait for you to see the future BDC!
