Boston Design Week programming continues as noted furniture designer Eric Chang of Brooklyn’s Hellman-Chang talks with New England Home Editor-in-Chief Kyle Hoepner about what counts as “contemporary” in today’s design world.
Hellman-Chang’s furniture is typically sleek and bold, but the ways designers across the U.S. have used Chang’s artisanal pieces in context becomes part of the story. Just what counts as modernity at a time when—seemingly—almost anything goes?
Eric Chang is the Creative Director and Co-Founder of Brooklyn-based trade furniture line Hellman-Chang alongside his business partner, Daniel Hellman. The self-taught duo is celebrating their tenth year of designing and hand-fabricating their highly customizable casegoods. Defined by their extreme attention to detail, sleek proportions, and unique designs, the Hellman-Chang brand has come to embody the “Brooklyn Design Renaissance.”
Please join us for a reception at The Bright Group, Suite 339, immediately following the discussion to meet Eric Chang and view his collection.
